Take That Rush

The great liberal collective has settled on “the” catch phrase to get across to the American people that critiques of the president and his polices “are now” insufferable.

Obama and democrats have taken it upon themselves to rail against Rush Limbaugh who recently said he wanted Obama’s social policies to fail.  Since attacking Obama is a greater peccadillo than Pearl Harbor or Sept. 11, the DNC concluded that a billboard contest was imperative.

At sometime and someplace in West Palm Beach, Florida the DNC funded ad will read:

“Americans didn’t vote for a Rush to failure”

Maybe that is true but Obama isn’t failing to disappoint.

Another Exit

In what is becoming an embarrassing routine, Chas W. Freeman Jr., Obama’s choice for chairman of the National Intelligence Council, withdrew his name from consideration on Tuesday.

Surprisingly it wasn’t related to tax evasion like many of Obama’s other picks.  It was his record.

As a former ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the president of the Middle East Policy Council, coincidentally funded by the Saudi government, Freeman had made several anti-Israeli statements and questioned U.S. support for Israel.

In addition past statements Freeman made indicate support for the crackdown on pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananmen Square in 1989.  It should be noted he served as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and served 4 years on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation.

Apparently as a graceful display of his keen judgment and humility,  Chas Freeman blamed “the” Israel Lobby group for his withdrawal.   I say apparently because I was unable to read his statement to colleagues.  However here are his words according to another source:

“tactics of the Israel Lobby plumb the depths of dishonor and indecency and include character assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the record, the fabrication of falsehoods, and an utter disregard for the truth.”

If you subscribe to the L.A. Times or Foreign Policy you agree with Chas Freeman that one’s record isn’t as important as blaming Jews.
