Media Elite and the Tea Parties

Posted in Tea Party, Uncategorized on April 18th, 2009 by John H – 1 Comment

I attended the Tea Party in Sacramento, CA so I missed most of the live coverage of the event by the networks. I’ve been trying to catch up in the past couple days because I was curious how it was represented. Given the coverage leading up to the event by the media elite, I wasn’t expecting much and they didn’t fail to deliver.

Here was angry CNN’s Susan Roesgen right in the thick of it selectively targeting particular signs to portray the Chicago Tea Party as a Fox News and right-wing organized event to bash Obama.

Clearly Susan left her journalist integrity at home that day to make room for her political agenda. Her interviews were plainly antagonistic attempts to provoke a confrontation. When the interviewees didn’t take the bait and the crowd no longer approved of her brand of character assassination, she signs off from what she could only describe as an angry, anti-CNN mob. Pot meet kettle.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper finally couldn’t resist joining MSNBC’s David Shuster for some tea-bagging.

Now, I get the joke and I get that both these “hard news” networks are after John Stewart’s Daily Show viewers but you’d think the executives at MSNBC and CNN would at least hire real comedians if they want their networks taken seriously. Hearing these two repeat the same joke over and over again was like watching Rodney King’s smackdown again… which I think all have seen enough.

Again, no big surprise from the media elite which seems stuck in either the anger or denial stage of the Kubler-Ross cycles of grief when it comes to “we” the people. These elitists couldn’t connect with the common man even if their ratings depended on it… oh wait they do. Despite trailing significantly behind Fox News in every conceivable time slot these guys still can’t pass an opportunity to call attention to how their competitor gets the average American.

I’d refer to them arrogant, dismissive, and even derisive but apparently that’s a description only fit for Americans.

Sacramento Liber-Tea Party

I’m attending the April 15th Tea Party demonstration at the Capital in Sacramento, CA where thousands have gathered to voice their opposition to the Generations Impoverished, Victimized and Embezzled Act the U.S. government imposed on the American people when it decided to bailout companies with U.S. tax dollars.

Honestly, I’ve never seen a more congenial group of “protestors” despite the motivation behind the entire event.  Sure some of the signs carried by attendees express reasonable discontent (and humor) but the people are smiling, polite, and altogether peaceful.  A far cry from the CNN coverage I read about on American Thinker

Clearly the Huffington Post succeeded in getting some people to infiltrate the event.

Updated:  Here are some pics of the Sac Tea Party…

Activists Protest Government Bailouts: Don’t Be Fooled

According to Breitbart, several hundred demonstrators protested the government bailouts today near Wall Street.

Members of worker rights, healthcare and anti-war groups gathered in the rain holding posters that read “Bail Out the Unemployed” and “No More $ For Wall St & War.”

They also shouted demands for more jobs.

Of course this makes news but when it’s a Tea Party demonstration, you can’t buy coverage.  The majority of the protestors were members of  Bail Out The People Movement.  Take a look at their website.  It’s just another anti-war, anti-capitalist group that supports illegal immigration, unions, and nationalized health care.

Needless to say, this group isn’t looking out for working Americans…

The U.S. Federal Treasury Prints $1 Trillion Out Of Thin Air

Posted in Uncategorized on March 19th, 2009 by John H – 1 Comment

Today the Federal Reserve announced plans to purchase over $1 Trillion dollars in Treasury bonds and mortgage securities which will keep interest rates low and should promote financing. How will they pay for this… oh, don’t worry they have the authority to just print money out of thin air.

What?!?! Mmmm hmmm, yeah, they can.

Okay I can see that people might refinance, maybe buy a new car, and the banks get a bailout so they can make all these credit needs come true.

On the flip side, my dollar won’t buy me #@%$! on McDonald’s dollar menu!

Oh… I get it…
